Snow In Egypt

Apparently, it's so cold right now that it started snowing here in Egypt. The pictures below was taken in Alexandria.

Below is a video of kids playing with the snow (not in the snow, as the amount would not allow them too). It's such a rare occurrence that I could say that this is the first time it happened in the years that I've been here.

21

Lame, I know

So, happy cakeday to me I guess. Been 3 years having it in Egypt by now. And I'm quite lucky as my friends doesn't 'celebrate' it, because usually it's very near to our final semester exam. Like right now, which is just another week really. So I should truthfully be cramming among piles of book instead of typing this post. Heh.

Also, I'm not the kind that celebrate this kind of day too. Coz it just mean another year nearer to our death, no?

Damaged

ALL PARENTS DAMAGE their children. It cannot be helped. Youth, like pristine glass, absorbs the prints of its handlers. Some parents smudge, others crack, a few shatter childhoods completely into jagged little pieces, beyond repair.

The damage of neglect. The damage of violence. The damage of silence. All parents damage their children. This was their life together. Neglect. Violence. Silence.

Through it all, despite it all, sons will always privately adore their old men, because sons will adore their fathers through even the worst behavior. It is how they learn devotion. before he can devote himself to God or a woman, a boy will devote himself to his father, even foolishly, even beyond explanation.

The damage done.

I Love Cocaine

Now, now. Before you guys judge me or go into a state of shock because of the title, please check out the picture below. It's a comparison between type of drugs with various websites. Kinda hit the mark too, especially with Twitter and MySpace.

I'd say it's a nice analogy, don't you think? And also:

Life Goes On

Problem?

OK, I'm not going to apologize or explain why I haven't posted anything for the past 5 months. Because you know, I've got more important priorities other than blogging. Like, let's say, studying. Yeah, that. Plus I'm pretty much on Twitter right now. So go get yourself a Twitter account and follow my tweets. You can always find me there.

On a side note, A lot has happened since I last post. The biggest event would be the Egyptian Revolution. That's itself a whole lot story to be told later. Right now, life just goes on ;)
